Puzzles & games

A puzzle lover may want a solo problem to solve, a picture to assemble or a game that changes with other players. Choose the source of the challenge before comparing piece counts or difficulty labels.

Solo concentration or shared decisions?

A logic puzzle can be revisited alone once its rules are understood. A board game depends on other players and their choices. Ask whether the recipient wants quiet concentration or a reason to bring people to the table, then check player counts and any solo mode.

Compare the shape of the challenge

A jigsaw's image and piece shape affect difficulty alongside its count. A logic game may offer progressive tasks, while a competitive game becomes harder with stronger opponents. Look at an example task to judge fit more usefully than the front-of-box number.

Decide how it will pause

An unfinished jigsaw needs a surface; a pocket puzzle needs a way to retain all its pieces. Check storage and reset time for the intended setting. For a shared game, learning and scoring time count as part of the session too.
