Information you choose to provide
Shopping filters use general ages, interests, budgets, and play preferences. Search and finder choices may appear in the address bar, browser history, and hosting logs. Do not enter a child’s name, exact birthday, school, contact details, or other sensitive information into searches, list names, or notes.
Saved gifts, comparison selections, occasion list names, private notes, and bought status stay in this browser profile. They are not uploaded by the gift planner or included in analytics. Other people using this browser profile may see them. If you email us, your address and message are provided voluntarily so we can respond; please send only information needed for your question.
Local storage and cookies
The app does not set advertising cookies. Requested saving and comparison features use local storage named wonderbox:saved:v1, wonderbox:compare:v1, and wonderbox:planner:v1. These records remain until you remove them or clear this site’s browser data; they do not sync across devices. When browser storage is blocked, these features use a temporary in-memory fallback.
The besttoyguide:privacy:v1 record stores only your analytics choice, preference version, and the time you saved it. It expires after 180 days. Clearing site data resets it. With storage blocked, your choice applies only to the current tab’s visit. Expired or unrecognized preferences leave analytics off.
Optional analytics and performance
We use Vercel Web Analytics and, when configured, PostHog only after you accept optional analytics. It measures page visits, broad shopping actions, and rounded performance measurements to understand and improve the site. Custom events may contain public product identifiers, result counts, budget bands, and interface locations. They exclude your search text, finder ages, list names, notes, and contact information. We remove query parameters and fragments from analytics page addresses except the fixed campaign marker utm_source=chatgpt.com, and group shared finder paths without their preference details.
Vercel describes its service as using a temporary visitor hash instead of third-party cookies. Analytics may include browser and operating-system information, device type, referral information, timestamps, and approximate location inferred from the connection. We do not request precise device location. Vercel describes a 24-hour visitor-session lifetime; that is not a promise that all aggregated reports or hosting logs are deleted after 24 hours. Vercel analytics privacy information (opens in a new tab).
PostHog receives the same filtered shopping events and page visits. Its anonymous identifier is held in page memory and resets on a full reload; we do not create identified person profiles or store PostHog cookies. Automatic interaction capture, surveys, and session recording are disabled. Query strings, fragments, shared finder preferences, and referrer addresses are excluded, except the fixed campaign marker described above. PostHog privacy information (opens in a new tab).
Your choices and Global Privacy Control
Use Cookie Settings in the footer to accept, reject, or change analytics preferences. Optional analytics starts off, and withdrawing consent blocks subsequent analytics events. An already-loaded script can remain in the page until you reload, but its sending callback rejects events after withdrawal. We also keep optional analytics off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control, even if a previous preference accepted it. This is our technical choice; it is not a statement that every privacy law applies in the same way.
You can use browser privacy settings, tracking protections, and site-data controls. Rejecting analytics does not prevent browsing, saving gifts, comparing products, or using retailer links.
Technical information and third parties
The hosting service receives ordinary connection and request information needed to deliver and secure pages, such as an IP address, requested address, browser information, and request time. Hosting logs and any provider-side settings are separate from optional browser analytics. Remote product images load from the image provider named in their address, which receives connection information even when analytics is off.
Our catalog uses Amazon product identifiers and may retrieve product content through Amazon Creators API on the server. That lookup uses product identifiers, not gift-list notes or contact information. No Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, advertising pixels, or session-replay integration is configured in this application.
Sharing and retailer links
A shared gift-list link includes the selected product identifiers. Anyone who receives it can view those products. It excludes private notes, list names, and bought status; printing excludes notes unless you choose to include them. Shared finder links include shopping preferences.
Amazon and other retailers operate separately. Clicking a retailer link takes you to that retailer under its own privacy policy. Eligible links contain our affiliate tag, which lets the retailer attribute qualifying purchases. We do not collect payment information or control retailer checkout, shipping, returns, or tracking. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Retention and security
Local storage retention is described above. Provider log retention, analytics report retention, and email retention depend on the service configuration and the information involved; we do not promise an unverified deletion period. We use HTTPS on the public site and limit the information sent by the app, but no service or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Privacy requests
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or limits on processing. Contact A public contact address is not yet available. This channel is awaiting setup by the site operator. with the relevant page, approximate date, and request. Do not send passwords, identity documents, or children’s personal details. We may need limited information to locate a record or verify a request. We cannot retrieve or delete gift lists stored only in your browser; use the list controls or clear site data.
Children’s privacy
The service is designed for adults shopping for children and is not intended for children to submit personal information. We do not offer child accounts or ask for a child’s name, email, birthdate, school, photo, address, or precise location. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact us so it can be investigated and handled appropriately.
Policy changes
We update this page as practices change and show the revision date above. A new optional tracking purpose requires a new choice before it is enabled.
