Read the verdict and alternativesOur take
A bigger popping surface for arranging a pattern
Twenty-five bubbles in four sizes give the child more space to make rows and patterns with both hands than the original Dimpl. The board is about ten and a half by ten inches, so it changes the packing equation. More bubbles create a broader tactile surface, not a fundamentally different kind of game.
- Best fit
- Surface area and different bubble sizes matter more than pocketability.
- Before buying
- It is substantially larger than the original Dimpl; check bag space before buying for travel. Use the stated age guidance and adjust adult help to the child rather than expecting a particular learning outcome.

A small contained tactile activity is the actual need.
Fat Brain Toys Tugl Cube →
The handheld shape and side-to-side exploration, not for a promised calming or therapeutic outcome.
A closer look at the trade-offs
The trade-off
The original Dimpl is easier to fit into a small bag. Tugl Cube varies the handling action in a compact shape. Choose Pops Deluxe when surface area and different bubble sizes matter more than pocketability.
