Match the project to available time
Decorating a ready-made item and sewing an object from pieces are different commitments. If a gift will be opened between visits, choose something that can pause easily. For a longer project, plan a place where the child can leave the work safely and return to it.
Color is not a festival claim
Spirograph's patterns and a general art case may suit a child who likes color, but they do not teach a Diwali tradition by themselves. If you want a specific cultural or religious activity, discuss that with the family and select a resource made for that purpose.
Check what survives the first project
Spirograph's wheels can be used again with more paper and suitable pens. Klutz's felt and stuffing are used in the finished animals. Compare those different refill needs when choosing between repeatable drawing and a craft with an object to keep.

Before you choose
What makes a creative kit practical for a gathering?
Enough working tools, appropriate age guidance and a manageable preparation and drying schedule. Count usable projects before assuming a kit serves several children at once. A shared activity needs more planning than an individually wrapped present.
Are the crafts festival-specific?
